I can’t focus for shit!

Here I am, like always, doing too much. Or, am I just trying to rush every small, yet important, thing? Either way, I’m trying to dig myself out of this hole. My mind is uber-cluttered!

I am a product of my environment… And so are you!

I have a slight case of “neat freak” . But, don’t get it twisted, I often sleep with the cozy stack of clothes on my bed more than I’d like to admit. It’s called balance. But its time make space! I’ve decided that I am going to make a conscious effort to finish every initiated project that’s been starring at me almost all year long before we entered 2022. Game on!  You’ll see all of these things unfold in time.

But first… let’s make room for focus

Here are a few places and steps I use when it’s time to get organized.

The Closet: I have tons of clothes waiting on the opportunity to see the light of day. It makes me dizzy sometimes. It’s time for that to stop. Outing invites welcomed! Answer these questions. Do what makes sense. Get it outta there!

  • Does it have a tag on it? Return it if it is returnable.
  • Does it still fit? Boy oh boy, that scale has been tripping lately.
  • Does it compliment your CURRENT body? Time to be honest. Everything ain’t for everybody!
  • Are you REALLY gonna wear it (again)?
  • Can I make some money ? Check out my poshmark store!
  • Would you buy it again? Do you have too many duplicates?
  • Have I worn it in the last year?
  • Is it damaged? Is it fixable? (There is value in alterations)
  • Do you have multiple?

I invited a few friends over for a little bonding and clothing exchange after the. Fun times!! Use this idea as you please.

Bathroom: I am a certified product junkie! It’s terrible. If its not DIY hair products, it’s certainly in line with a 25-step skin care routine. Let stop here are help a few folks…

Word of the day – RANCID  – Click here for more details on rancid products.

Rancid oils pose a big health risk and should be considered toxic. When rancid oils are eaten or applied to the skin, free radical damage to the cells is increased. It is well known in natural medical circles, that rancid oils are considered carcinogenic, pro-inflammatory and very toxic. -Kate Poole-

All preservatives in makeup breakdown overtime. Its suggested that any product should not be kept more than three years. Click here for more information on expiring makeup.

Once I ridded myself of the old products, clothing, and miscellenious items, the rest was simple cleaning. The rest, meaning the kitchen, living room, office etc… came down to recycling, disposal and cleaning.  I’ll be sure to feature a few tips in the future.

Now that I’ve gotten things somewhat in order, I feel free. Working in my home has been a struggle for me for some time now. Fingers crossed, this should help. Moving forward, I will be more intentional about deciding what things are needs versus wants. I am also more intentional about taking advantage of the opportunities that are in front of me. Whether that is to pick up an item and take it to its rightful place or send that email I’ve been putting off for weeks.

Every year, month, or day, I make a commitment to getting my shit together. I have everything I need and vow to fight consumerism daily.  I hope you take this time to get organized and focus. Next time you decide to bring something unnecessary into your atmosphere, think twice. Shop with intention. Our consumption habits affect our personal spaces and overall environment. PTSD! PUT THAT SHIT DOWN!! Get focused.
