WEST COAST PLAYTIME Joshua Tree/ Bonneville Salt Flats

When the world was basically on red,

I decided to see a few wonders within the United States. While I certainly enjoy using my passport, there are so many must see places in these here States. I am so grateful for two friends that decided to put up with my shenanigans and make birthday 2020 fantastic! While Joshua Tree was a starlit fantasy, Bonneville Salt Flats is where I felt God most. It was amazing!

The trip began in Los Angeles, CA. After a short visit with another close friend, Jannel and I enjoyed dinner at Beauty of Essex. There is nothing like dining with folks that don’t mind sampling a little bit of everything on the menu. Those oven braised chicken meatballs and kale apple salad… heavenly!!

Let me pause to acknowledge my girl Jannel. Every time I’m around her, I take a few notes on how to do life. The timing was simply perfect as I typically enter a season of reflection around my born day. I was reminded of how to make your mornings intentional. Not by a preaching session, but by example. I’ll write about this in full detail one day. For now, check out her book Lavender & Peppermint Tea. It’s written with the nurse in mind. I guarantee you its an easy and applicable tool for anyone seeking to rid themselves of a few limiting beliefs.

The trip concluded on a high in the middle of nowhere!!! Bonneville Salt Flats. What made me want to visit were all of the Pinterest photos. From weddings to race car cinematography, it was uniquely stunning. If you ever have a day to visit, I’d highly suggest this out of the box natural wonder.

Kabeebs and I enjoyed our drive and stay in Joshua Tree. If you invest in anything, I’d say treat yourself to a serene/relaxing place to stay. It’s all about the vibes. And be sure to geek out on star gazing. Before our visit to the desert park, we took a chance on a local sound bath. What an experience! The park itself makes for a hot backdrop for a few Instagram photos. Just be sure to check your map out because after a while, it all starts to look the same.

Palm Springs was a bit of a bust for us. We got a late start and because of the panorama (pandemic), many places were closed. But you can definitely feel the old Hollywood vibes. When I return, I’ll be sure to check out the architecture and the glory of the neighborhood doors.

Y’all!!

The trip concluded on a high in the middle of Nowhere, Utah!!! Bonneville Salt Flats, where many of the world’s fastest race car speeds have happened . What made me want to visit were all of the Pinterest photos. From weddings to race car cinematography, it was uniquely stunning. If you ever have a day to visit, I’d highly suggest this out of the box natural wonder.
